HOW WE DESIGN IT

No two existing homes install the same.

Older Adelaide homes, renovated villas, townhouses, apartments and newer family homes all have different constraints. We assess the home first, then recommend the system that actually fits: ducted reverse cycle, wall split systems, ducted evaporative cooling, or smart zoning.

01 — HOME ASSESSMENT

We look at the actual house, not just square metres.

Orientation, insulation, roof access, glazing, room use, ceiling space and existing services all affect the right air conditioning design.

02 — SYSTEM SELECTION

Ducted, split, evaporative or smart zoning.

We match the system to the home and budget, then explain the trade-offs clearly before you commit.

03 — FIXED QUOTE

A written recommendation with scope and inclusions.

You get a practical plan for installation, running-cost control and long-term support.

04 — INSTALL & HANDOVER

Clean installation and a system you know how to use.

Our technicians install, commission, test and walk you through controllers, zones and maintenance basics.

Existing-home questions

The practical questions that usually decide whether ducted, split or smart zoning is the right answer.

01Can ducted air conditioning be installed in an existing Adelaide home?

Often, yes. The key checks are roof space, access, return-air position, electrical capacity, duct paths and whether the home layout suits whole-home ducted comfort. If ducted is not practical, AFA Air can recommend split systems or another right-fit option.

02Is ducted or split system better for an existing home?

Ducted reverse cycle is best for whole-home comfort and a cleaner interior look. Wall split systems are better for single rooms, apartments, smaller budgets or homes where ductwork is not practical.

03How long does installation take?

A wall split system can often be installed in a day. Ducted systems generally take longer depending on home size, roof access, zoning and electrical work. AFA Air confirms timing in the written quote.

04Can smart zoning reduce running costs?

Yes. Smart zoning such as MyPlaceIQ can reduce waste by conditioning the rooms you actually use instead of pushing air through the entire home all day.

05Do existing-home ducted systems qualify for the Lifetime Warranty?

Eligible new ducted installations can be connected to AirShepherd monitoring and the AFA Air Lifetime Warranty program. Suitability is confirmed during the quote process.

Comfort, tailored.

Tell us about the rooms that are uncomfortable, the system you have now and what you want to change. We will come back with an honest recommendation and written quote.
